Social Groups for Autistic People Aged 8-30

“It was brilliant fun. Got to do some abseiling, paddle-boarding and climbing” 

 “He had the best time and really enjoyed meeting you all. I just want to thank you so much, it means everything to me to see him so happy, yesterday was a massive challenge for him, for it to turn out as well as it did will give his confidence such a boost”

 “I think my favourite activity was the lights at Longleat. The group has really helped me to try to get involved more in group-based events and feeling more comfortable in a group setting and feeling more confident in opening up”  

 “I just wanted to say a big thank you for the bowling trip. The volunteers were great. X really enjoyed himself and he is himself and really relaxed with the group which is very unusual for him”  

 “Ever since joining Lauren’s social group, the quality, variety and inclusivity of the activities has been extremely impressive. It’s encouraged me to get out and socialise more with people who have autism like myself or any other type of difficulty, as we’re all equally valid. There’s always something for everyone, be it trips cross-country or evenings out, and I’m very grateful to Lauren for putting it all together” 

  “The girls had a great time at Airhop. A enjoyed playing with B who she’d previously met at the farm and bowling. Thanks so much for arranging these day’s outs. It gives A something to look forward to as she only had one friend at school (who she doesn’t see outside of school) so it’s great for her to meet up with new friends”  

 “I think the social group is doing very well. It makes us feel we’re not alone and it definitely helps myself and others to develop relationships. My favourite trip so far is Comic Con in Cardiff. I hope we can get more members to help them achieve many great things!”  

Our social group was supported by the Public Health Grant during Covid.
